А.М. Pozdnyeyev worked in Mongolia twice between 1876 and 1892. The research team he led mainly concentrated in areas close to Urguu (present day Ulaanbaatar), Central Khalkha and Western Mongolia, and accumulated significant amount of material including hand written manuscripts, oral and folk literature and other ethnological topics.
